In 2021, EPPIC established a partnership with Discovery Farms®, and with the assistance of the Marathon County Conservation, Planning, and Zoning Department, installed two edge-of-field monitors in the Eau Pleine Watershed. This partnership was established to evaluate the impact of regenerative agriculture practices on surface water quality. Two edge-of-field monitoring stations are installed on two dairy farms in Marathon County and will remain in place for multiple years.
You can see Real Time Data from the monitoring sites here:
To highlight the work the EPPIC farmers are doing, we have edge of field signs to showcase conservation practices across the watershed. Watch out for our: Cover Crops & No Till, Managed Grazing, Perennial Forages, and Healthy Shorelands signs across the Eau Pleine Watershed!
